Trump Announces Big Trip – First Time In 82 Years

President Donald Trump announced plans to visit Fort Knox to personally verify the presence of the nation’s gold reserves. The U.S. Bullion Depository, which houses 147.3 million ounces of gold valued at $435 billion, last allowed a non-official inspection in 1943 during President Roosevelt’s term.

Trump emphasized the importance of transparency, saying, “We’re gonna go into Fort Knox to make sure the gold is there.” The site, established in 1937, is among the most secure in the world.

While Treasury officials, including Steve Mnuchin in 2017, confirmed the gold’s presence, Trump expressed concern, joking that if it’s missing, “we’re gonna be very upset.”

Fort Knox also serves as a key Army training center and its vault has only opened to visitors a few times in history.
