Trump has ‘disturbing’ response after South African president calls him out with dig about $400,000,000 plane gift

Former President Donald Trump sparked controversy during a May 21 meeting with South African President Cyril Ramaphosa by defending his acceptance of a \$400 million luxury jet from Qatar, intended to serve as the new Air Force One.

The gift drew bipartisan criticism over constitutional concerns.

During the meeting, Trump pushed discredited claims of violence against white farmers in South Africa. Ramaphosa responded dryly, saying, “I’m sorry, I didn’t have a plane to give you,” to which Trump replied, “I would take it.”

The meeting took a bizarre turn when Trump played a controversial anti-apartheid video. Ramaphosa firmly rejected the conspiracy theories, urging Trump to listen to South Africans rather than misinformation.
