Donald Trump recently shared a request on his social media platform, Truth Social, urging Elon Musk to bring two NASA astronauts, Sunita Williams and Barry ‘Butch’ Wilmore, back to Earth. The astronauts have been stranded on the International Space Station (ISS) since June 2024 after their Boeing Starliner had technical issues. Their mission, initially intended to last eight days, has extended to eight months. Trump criticized the Biden administration for leaving the astronauts in space and expressed support for Musk’s SpaceX efforts. However, NASA had already planned their return for late March, working with SpaceX. Williams and Wilmore, who have adapted to life in microgravity, continue daily exercise routines to combat bone density loss. Despite the challenges, Williams expressed her longing to reunite with family, while Wilmore noted his growing muscle mass from weightlifting.
