Why You Should Never Kill A House Centipede Inside Your House Again

Centipedes, often seen in basements, have fascinating characteristics. Their age is linked to the number of legs they have, as they can regrow lost legs during molting. They have existed for over 400 million years. Despite their slow reputation, they can quickly cover over a foot in less than a second due to their segmented bodies and many legs. Centipedes prey on a variety of animals, with larger ones feeding on creatures like frogs. Some can live up to six years. Though they can be beneficial by eliminating pests like spiders and roaches, house centipedes can become a nuisance if they infest. If you find a few, it’s best to leave them, but infestations may indicate other pest problems requiring professional help.
