Trump Questions Validity of Biden Pardons Signed by Autopen; Senate Investigates

President Donald Trump has called into question the legality of several executive actions and pardons issued during Joe Biden’s presidency, alleging they were signed using an autopen without Biden’s knowledge. Trump declared on Truth Social that such documents—including high-profile pardons—are “VOID” and claimed Biden was mentally unfit and unaware of the orders.

Trump accused Biden aides and the “Unselect Committee” of potential criminal wrongdoing and demanded investigations into those involved.

The controversy escalated after former White House official Neera Tanden admitted in closed-door testimony that she authorized and used Biden’s autopen from October 2021 to May 2023 without confirming the president’s approval for each use.

Senator Eric Schmitt (R-MO) has launched a formal inquiry, invoking a “special access request” under the Presidential Records Act to obtain sealed documents related to autopen procedures. Schmitt said the records could expose a major coverup of Biden’s mental decline and unauthorized governance by staff.

The legal and constitutional implications of autopen usage are now under congressional scrutiny.
