Andrea West courageously shared her journey through loss and healing after suffering a miscarriage just 11 weeks into her first pregnancy. The grief was overwhelming, and she blamed herself for a long time, unaware that 1 in 4 women experience miscarriage. With her husband’s support, Andrea found strength and later became pregnant again. Determined to do everything “right,” she adopted a healthier lifestyle and was overjoyed to learn she was expecting a boy.
Their son, Adam, was born on September 21st, but the moment was quickly overshadowed when doctors noticed abnormalities in his leg. He was rushed to the NICU and later diagnosed with Cutis Marmorata Telangiectatica Congenita (CMTC), a rare vascular condition with only around 500 reported cases worldwide.
Despite initial fears, Adam passed all medical tests and has since thrived. His parents continue to raise awareness about CMTC, attending conferences and connecting with other families. Today, Adam is active, happy, and just like other kids—his parents’ rainbow after the storm.
