Homan Blasts Dems Labeling ICE Agents As ‘Nazis,’ ‘Racists’ After Ambushes

Border czar Tom Homan is urging Democratic politicians to tone down what he describes as dangerous rhetoric directed at U.S. immigration officials. His warning follows the recent shooting of a Texas police officer outside the Prairieland Detention Facility, an ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas. In an interview on America’s Newsroom, Homan warned that political attacks against ICE are fostering a hostile environment that could lead to more violence.

“We have senators and congresspeople comparing ICE to Nazis and racists,” Homan said. “The public sees that and thinks, ‘If they can attack ICE, why can’t we?’” He argued that such rhetoric is not just irresponsible, but also contributes to real-world consequences, citing the officer who was shot in the neck during the recent incident. Homan emphasized that anti-ICE sentiments are becoming increasingly dangerous.

The Department of Homeland Security confirmed that, in addition to the shooting, agitators vandalized federal property at the detention site by slashing tires and destroying surveillance equipment. These acts of vandalism come amid continued protests in cities like Portland, where demonstrators are opposing President Trump’s immigration enforcement policies.

According to Homan, attacks on ICE and other immigration enforcement officers have jumped nearly 700% compared to the previous year. He also condemned Democratic leaders such as Rep. Stephen Lynch and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for comparing ICE agents to the Gestapo, labeling those remarks as inflammatory and irresponsible.

Homan defended ICE personnel as professionals who are simply enforcing the laws passed by Congress, many of whom have families of their own. “They don’t hang their heart on a hook when they go to work,” he said. His comments came shortly after President Trump signed a $3.3 trillion spending bill that included massive increases in ICE staffing, detention capacity, and border security infrastructure.
