Trump Praised for Historic Israel-Palestine Peace Deal
Fox News anchor Bret Baier praised former President Donald Trump on Monday following a historic peace deal between Israel and Hamas. During a segment on America’s Newsroom, Baier described Trump’s speech before the Israeli Knesset as “historic” and said it may be remembered as a defining moment of his presidency. Trump called the simultaneous celebrations in Israel and Muslim nations “very special,” marking a rare moment of unity in the region.
The peace deal follows more than two years of conflict that began after the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks, which killed 1,200 Israelis and resulted in the abduction of hundreds. After prolonged negotiations led by the Trump administration, Hamas released the final 20 hostages on Monday, and Israel freed 2,000 Palestinian prisoners.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu hailed Trump as “Israel’s greatest friend,” thanking him for supporting Israel at the UN, backing its territorial claims, and withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal.
The peace agreement includes a 20-point plan: an end to Israeli military operations, full hostage exchanges, and the creation of a neutral governing body in Gaza. A technical Palestinian group will oversee Gaza, supervised by an international “Board of Peace” led by Trump, Tony Blair, and others. The plan also features economic development, foreign investment, and humanitarian aid monitored by neutral organizations.
Trump’s goal is to rebuild Gaza into a prosperous region, keeping its residents involved in its transformation.
