Ariana Grande has sparked controversy once again—this time with an Instagram post aimed at supporters of President Donald Trump. The singer reshared a message from LGBTQ+ activist Matt Bernstein that questioned whether Trump’s policies had truly benefited his voters. The post asked whether his administration had delivered on promises of lower insurance premiums, reduced grocery prices, and a stronger economy, and whether those gains were “worth the suffering” experienced by immigrants, transgender people, and others affected by his policies.
“Has the widespread suffering of others paid off for you in the way he promised it would, or are you still waiting?” the message read. Grande’s decision to repost it immediately drew attention and divided opinion online. Critics accused her of being disrespectful and politically biased, while supporters praised her for speaking out on social justice issues.
The pop star is no stranger to political commentary. In June 2025, she reposted a message from Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez calling for Trump’s impeachment after he authorized airstrikes on Iran without congressional approval. Around the same time, she shared a meme questioning the double standards between deportation and political power—a clear reference to Trump’s legal troubles, including his 2024 conviction on 34 counts of falsifying business records and numerous allegations of sexual misconduct.
Despite backlash, including xenophobic calls for her deportation, Grande—an American citizen—has continued to voice her opinions. She has long expressed support for Kamala Harris and for progressive causes, using her massive platform of over 370 million Instagram followers to advocate for political awareness and compassion.
