Will Breaux’s Dream Home: Building Boldly, One Container at a Time
Creating and living in a dream home is something many people imagine—but few dare to pursue unconventionally. Will Breaux is one of those rare individuals who turned his vision into reality, entirely on his own terms.
When he couldn’t find an architect who shared his unique idea, Will—despite having no construction experience—set out to design and build a home made entirely of shipping containers. Most saw the idea as risky or even impossible, but Will pushed forward.
The result? A stunning 2,600-square-foot, three-story container home on McGowen Street in Houston. The exterior is bold and industrial, while the rooftop deck offers a peaceful retreat with city skyline views.
Inside, every room reflects Will’s passion and personality. The first floor includes a media room, bar, guest suite, and studio—each blending function with modern style. Though the upper floors are still under construction, glimpses reveal the same creativity and care throughout.
But this project goes beyond building a house. It’s a symbol of vision, resilience, and daring to go against the grain. Repurposing shipping containers not only showcases Will’s ingenuity but also promotes sustainable living and eco-conscious design.
By customizing every detail himself, Will didn’t just create a home—he built a living piece of art and a powerful reminder: you don’t need perfect conditions to chase your dream. Just a bold idea, determination, and the courage to take that first step.
His story inspires us all to think bigger, start where we are, and build boldly.
