Sniper Attack at Dallas ICE Facility Leaves Three Injured, Suspect Dead
At least three people were injured in a shooting at an ICE detention facility in Dallas early Wednesday morning. Authorities later found the suspected gunman dead on the roof of a nearby immigration attorney’s office from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The incident occurred around 7 a.m. According to Fox4, the injured individuals were detainees in ICE custody. Their conditions remain unclear, but some are reportedly in critical condition.
ICE Director Todd Lyons confirmed that the shooter was “down,” though further details about the suspect’s identity or motive have not been released. Images from the scene showed a large police presence surrounding the facility and nearby areas.
The Dallas facility has recently been the site of frequent pro-immigration protests, though it’s unclear if the attack is connected to any organized group.
This incident comes just months after a July 4 attack on another ICE facility in Alvarado, Texas, where 10 people were arrested for shooting at law enforcement. Those suspects, armed and in tactical gear, were charged with terrorism and aggravated assault.
The FBI and local authorities are investigating the Dallas shooting. The situation remains fluid, and updates are expected as more information becomes available.
