Social Media Star Zuza Beine Dies at 14 After Battling Cancer
Zuza Beine, a rising social media star known for her candid sharing of her cancer journey, has died at the age of 14. Diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia at just three years old, Zuza used her growing online platform to educate millions about the realities of living with cancer.
Over the years, Zuza amassed two million followers, inspiring many with her honest videos and messages of hope. According to her Instagram bio, she survived cancer five times—a testament to her extraordinary strength and resilience.
Tragically, her family announced her passing on September 23 via her social media page, saying, “It is with broken hearts that we share that Zuza died yesterday morning. She lived 11 of her 14 years with relentless cancer, yet lived more fully and gratefully than most. Her being changed us forever, and her dying will too.”
Her final video, released just days before her death, poignantly captured her gratitude despite immense suffering. In it, Zuza revealed she was in “so much pain” she could “barely walk,” yet still expressed appreciation for the everyday moments many take for granted.
“Being diagnosed with cancer has made me deeply grateful for the everyday things that many people often take for granted,” she wrote.
Zuza’s content often showed the stark contrast of her life—one day sharing hospital visits and the challenges of treatment, and on another, enjoying typical teenage interests like Taylor Swift and makeup.
Adding to the family’s heartbreak, Zuza’s uncle passed away just a week before her death. The family has asked that donations be directed to his wife and children in lieu of flowers or other gifts.
Zuza Beine’s bravery and openness touched millions, reminding the world of the strength found in vulnerability and the preciousness of life even amid hardship.
