Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman blamed former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi for the Democratic losses in the 2024 elections. In an interview with Politico, Fetterman criticized Pelosi’s power moves, accusing her of embracing a “godmother” role while still blaming President Biden. He remarked that Pelosi got what she wanted with Biden’s departure and Kamala Harris’ rise but continued to blame Biden. Fetterman also criticized Democrats who labeled Trump supporters as “fascists,” stating such terms alienate voters. Pelosi’s comments about Biden’s decision to back Harris and her influence on Democrats’ dissatisfaction with Biden sparked further debate. Amid calls for Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer to step aside, Fetterman suggested the Democratic Party needed a leadership change for a more competitive future.
