JUST IN: Trump Nominee Confirmed In 77-23 Senate Vote

The Senate confirmed Doug Collins as Secretary of Veterans Affairs with a 77-23 vote on Tuesday. A former Georgia congressman and Air Force chaplain, Collins garnered bipartisan support, including all 53 Senate Republicans and nearly half of the Democrats. His confirmation follows a smooth process, with little opposition during his nomination hearing in January. Collins now leads the Department of Veterans Affairs, overseeing its vast healthcare system and managing critical benefits for millions of veterans. President Trump praised Collins as a strong advocate for veterans and military families. Known for his staunch conservatism, Collins brings a background in ministry and law, having previously served in Georgia’s House of Representatives and the U.S. Air Force Reserve.
