Jenna Bush Hager is officially welcoming a permanent co-host to her fourth-hour morning show. After nearly a year of rotating guest co-hosts—including Brooke Shields, Olivia Munn, and Scarlett Johansson—Hager announced on December 9 that Today’s Sheinelle Jones will join her as a permanent partner starting January 12. The show will be rebranded as Today with Jenna & Sheinelle.
Hager expressed excitement over their collaboration, calling Jones her “forever friend” and highlighting their decade-long friendship. Jones shared similar enthusiasm, reflecting on her career journey and describing this opportunity as “beyond my wildest dreams.” The two grew emotional on-air as they discussed the meaningful connection they share.
Jones, 47, has been a member of the Today family since October 2014, first co-anchoring Weekend Today and later hosting the third hour of Today from January 2019. She took a nearly nine-month hiatus to support her husband, Uche Ojeh, during his battle with brain cancer. Following his passing in May, Jones returned to the show, describing her co-hosts and the audience as her “oxygen.” Savannah Guthrie praised her return, calling Jones the “heartbeat” of Studio 1A.
Jones is a mother of three—son Kayin, 16, and twins Clara and Uche, 13—and her resilience and dedication have resonated with colleagues and viewers alike. Her permanent partnership with Hager marks a new chapter for the show, blending friendship, professional respect, and shared storytelling.
Today with Jenna & Sheinelle officially premieres January 12, 2026, signaling a fresh era for the popular fourth-hour broadcast while continuing to spotlight human-interest stories and lighthearted entertainment.
