Donald Trump, once a Met Gala regular, has been permanently banned by Vogue editor Anna Wintour. She declared in 2017, “He will never be invited again,” and the ban has held ever since.
Despite proposing to Melania en route to the 2004 Gala, Trump’s polarizing image no longer aligns with the event’s evolving values. This year’s theme, celebrating Black fashion, emphasized inclusion and pushed out controversial figures — including Trump, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos.
