On his first day in office, President Trump is set to sign over 200 executive actions, including 11 focused on immigration and border security, aimed at reversing policies from the Biden administration. Among the key actions, Trump plans to direct the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the Department of Defense (DOD) to complete the border wall, end parole programs like CBP One App, and reinstate the “Remain in Mexico” policy. Additionally, U.S. troops will be deployed to assist in securing the border, and cartels such as MS-13 will be designated as foreign terrorist organizations, allowing for more aggressive actions against them.
Trump will also declare a national border emergency and prioritize the eradication of criminal cartels. He aims to close the border to illegal aliens, rapidly deport apprehended individuals, and launch a homeland security task force made up of law enforcement agencies like the FBI and ICE. Another major initiative will be a broad deregulation effort, including the full utilization of Alaskan energy resources and an overhaul of the federal bureaucracy to increase presidential authority over federal employees.
In addition to border and energy policies, Trump will address the cost of living by ordering agencies to eliminate actions that raise consumer costs. He also plans a comprehensive overhaul of the federal government to end “weaponization” and federal censorship, and will enact measures to prioritize American interests in foreign aid and immigration.
Trump’s Day One actions emphasize fulfilling campaign promises and regaining control of the U.S. government, with a focus on national security, reducing government overreach, and prioritizing American families. His administration promises a transformative, action-oriented start, dubbed as “shock and awe.”
